Public Speaking Training (All Levels)

public

Public speaking is often perceived as a high-stakes challenge, especially in France, where oral expression and self-assertion can be seen as existential threats within a culture that values staying within the norms.

This generates stress and triggers insecurities that are difficult to confront.sqa

However, it remains an essential exercise for career advancement, managing potential conflicts, leading meetings, and even shaping your overall professional presence.

This training is designed to introduce you to public speaking, basic rhetorical techniques for debates, methods for structuring a speech, and, most importantly, to demystify the exercise, allowing rapid improvement with focused effort.

It is intended for anyone required to speak in public, whether in institutional or professional settings, to lead meetings, conferences, or any presentation with or without visual aids.

This training can be delivered individually or in groups, depending on your needs, and can take place either in-person or remotely.

Duration

A training course over two days (consecutive or not) with several stages:

  1. The concept of public speaking: what it involves, in which circumstances it applies, for whom, and for what purpose.
  2. Message preparation: content planning. Identifying the audience, choosing appropriate vocabulary, and structuring the speech according to the context.
  3. Practical exercises: defining objectives, addressing an audience effectively, and mastering the right pace and speech flow.
  4. Public speaking execution: understanding the “dramaturgy” of speaking, demystifying the process, and applying anchoring and relaxation techniques to manage stress during high-stakes presentations.

Learning objectives:

  • Manage stress effectively
  • Learn to improvise confidently
  • Prepare a public speech adapted to the stakes without relying on notes
  • Understand and respect the “rules of the game” for different speaking contexts (conference, competition, project presentation, etc.)
  • Make the speech accessible and clear according to the audience
  • Structure the speech to maintain audience attention
  • Create a PowerPoint presentation that supports rather than distracts from the message
  • Be assertive or attentive during debates or dialogues
  • Establish legitimacy in content and delivery, ensuring credibility in both substance and form

Methodology:

  • Collect participants’ needs and conduct an initial camera session to collectively identify improvement areas for a given speech
  • Targeted exercises focusing on content, form, and delivery style
  • Analysis of various public speaking situations and the corresponding “rules of engagement”
  • Learn to meet audience expectations depending on the context
  • Semantics and perspective: how to shift audience perception of an event through language
  • Practical improvisation exercises using specific lexical fields (positive or negative)
  • Facilitation of debates and handling questions on precise, controversial, or potentially conflict-inducing topics
  • Active participation is strongly encouraged to ensure uniform progress, maximizing the benefit of the training for all participants
